koziol & sustainability

Since 1927, the brand koziol stands for good design with a good conscience as we exclusivley run production in Germany with fair and sustainable conditions in mind for both, us and the environment.

Made in Germany

From the initial idea to the final product, everything goes through our hands. Modeling, development, construction, forms, production, shipping, and marketing are all under one roof. This ensures the most sustainably efficient production. Koziol solely uses the most modern technology for our pioneering products. No thermosets. No BPA. No softeners. All product waste is 100% recycled. You can hardly get more consciously pure. Since January 01, 2013, koziol exclusively manufactures with green-energy, saving around 1,276 tons of CO2. Material is preferably bought directly here in Germany. Additionally, the production under one roof eliminates long transport routes.

FAMILY TRADITION

On the 27th of November, 1927, Bernhard Koziol founded his ivory-carving workshop as a one-man show. In his bedroom, with the help of an old sewing machine, he created delicate jewelry and miniature figurines out of ivory. In 1935 koziol first manufactured jewelry completely out of synthetic plastics. Back then, the molding-machine was a technological revolution and was, as with everything new, initially met with suspicion.

CLIMATE NEUTRAL

koziol products are climate neutral! Sustainability is a central value within our corporate philosophy. However, although we are very conscious of our use of resources and materials, generating CO2 emissions in our work processes is unavoidable. We offset these emissions through climate protection projects. All koziol products are therefore climate-neutral. With our contributions, we support the preservation of European forests wherein the trees are already fully grown and thus bind a maximum amount of CO₂. In addition, these untouched areas protect many endangered animal- and plant species, contributing to valuable biodiversity.
